The Rangers will try to complete the home sweep of the Royals this afternoon and the trends are heavily in their favor. Texas will send out newly acquired pitcher Lucas Harrell (2-2, 3.38 ERA) to make his first Rangers start vs Dillon Gee (3-4, 4.54 ERA) and the defending World Series Champions.
Harrell only made five starts for the Braves before being traded to the desperate for starting pitcher Rangers. In that small sample size, however, Harrell posted the best numbers of his career and is coming off a clean six-inning, four-hit, no-run performance against the Twins.
In two starts since being promoted to the starting rotation, Dillon Gee has given up a combined eight runs in 10.1 innings pitching. He has a 5.82 ERA during the day and a 6.06 ERA this month. Gee is actually from Arlington so maybe he will pitch well in front of his hometown crowd?
I’m finding myself really grasping at straws for the Royals here. Fading them on the road has been very profitable this season and I see no reason why that trend stops today.
