Sunday’s slate of MLB action is highlighted by the finale of a three-game interleague set between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Dodgers vs Red Sox Game Center

Standout Stats

  • Sportsbooks opened the Red Sox as -115 favorites, but that number had come down to -105 as of Sunday morning. The total opened at 9.
  • Hyun-Jin Ryu will get the start for the Dodgers. Ryu (10-2, 1.73 ERA) owns the best ERA in the majors and made one appearance in the World Series against the BoSox last fall in a Game 2 loss where he allowed four runs and six hits over 4 2/3 innings.
  • David Price will counter for Boston. Price (7-2, 3.24) earned the win over Ryu in Game 2 of the World Series while yielding two runs in six frames. The hurler issued a total of four walks in June but is up to six free passes already in July.
  • The Dodgers dropped an 8-1 decision on Friday before bashing four home runs among 14 hits in Saturday’s 11-2 triumph.
  • The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Red Sox, who continue to chase the Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland Athletics and Cleveland Indians in the wild-card race and the New York Yankees in the AL East.
  • Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts has been fantastic of late, as he homered in each of the first two games of the series and scored at least one run in five straight.

My Best Bet for Dodgers-Red Sox

Due to the offensive explosion from both teams in the Sportsbook two games of this series, I expect baseball bettors to be flocking to bet the OVER in this one, however I’m going against the grain and taking the UNDER.

The UNDER is 5-1 in the Dodgers’ last six overall, and the UNDER is 5-2 in Ryu’s last seven starts. I’m banking on Ryu and Price putting on a pitcher’s duel in this one and taking the UNDER.

The UNDER is 5-2 in Hyun-Jin Ryu's last seven starts.away The Dodgers are 1-7 SU in their last eight games at Fenway Park.away The Red Sox are 1-4 SU in their last five home games.home
