YRFI/NRFI Picks For Tonight: Rare Fade In Reds-Rockies

Y/NRFI picks are your new best friend if you want instant MLB action. Personally, I hate waiting for my bets to hit, so I'm all in on this popular betting format.

Here are my two Y/NRFI bets for Wednesday, June 5:

Pick 1: Mets vs Nationals: No run First inning (-115)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 4:05 pm ET

Oh, how far Patrick Corbin has come. In 2022, the Nationals starter was famously an automatic fade, spending time as baseball's least profitable pitcher for over a year. Nowadays, the Nats are baseball's most profitable team, and you can check out the profits here.

But you guys are here for Y/NRFI bets! And Corbin has been money, rocking a 10-2 NRFI record in 12 starts. The lefty has also been a part of six consecutive successful NRFI bets. Now this has a lot to do with the Nats' dreadful offense and 41-18 NRFI record. That's a crazy reliable margin.

On the other side, Mets starter Luis Severino is 9-2 NRFI, partially because of the Mets' equally incompetent offense. This could be a very quick first frame. I pity any fan who has to watch all nine innings of this contest, so let's consider ourselves lucky when we cash the NRFI bet and get the hell out of there.

Pick 2: Reds vs Rockies: No Run First Inning (+135)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 3:10 pm ET

The Rockies are YRFI gods, but let me explain my brief detour from that trend. It starts with the odds. The Rox games have been chalked all year for a run to score in the first, making this +135 line a great opportunity to fade.

Using the odds as a starting point, we can proceed to the Reds' incompetence in the first inning. Cincy is batting just .181 in the first inning this season, making it easy to see why this offense owns a 45-16 NRFI record. Most of the Reds' YRFIs have come from their pitching staff imploding. The Rockies are a solid offensive team in the first inning, but they're not fantastic by any means.

In this rare scenario, I'm comfortable betting Graham Ashcraft (CIN) and Dakota Hudson (COL) to keep it together for six lousy outs. Even if it busts, I'm okay with risking it on the value.
