Twins Aiming for Fifth Win in a Row

Jorge Polanco #11 of the Minnesota Twins throws a runner out at second in the second inning against the Seattle Mariners during their game at T-Mobile Park on May 17, 2019 in Seattle, Washington.

Winners of four in a row, the Minnesota Twins will have an opportunity to push that run to five games when they continue their road set with the Seattle Mariners tonight. Sportsbooks opened the Mariners as +120 home underdogs with a total of 9.

Standout Stats

  • The Twins belted four home runs en route to an 11-6 win in the series opener and followed that up with a 7-1 victory on Friday. Seven o the nine players in Minnesota’s lineup registered at least one hit.
  • Jose Berrios is slated to get the start for the Twins. Berrios (6-2, 3.05 ERA) failed to complete six innings for the first time in his nine starts in 2019 in his last appearance. The 24-year-old matched a season high with three walks in the loss to the Los Angeles Angels.
  • Wade LeBlanc is expected to be activated from the injured list and make his first start since April 12 for the Mariners. LeBlanc won both of his first two turns this season despite yielding eight runs - six earned - and 13 hits over 11 1/3 innings.
  • Dee Gordon and Edwin Encarnacion notched two of the five hits for the Mariners yesterday while J.P. Crawford registered the other.
  • The Mariners have struggled mightily against the American League Central division. Seattle is 1-7 SU in its past eight against AL Central opponents.

My best bet for Twins-Mariners

Twins moneyline

The Twinkies are playing lights-out baseball right now, yet still aren’t getting much respect from oddsmakers. I love Minnesota in this spot as I expect them to tee off against the rusty LeBlanc. The OVER 9 might be worth a look, but my best bet is on the Twins moneyline.
