Astros Remain World Series Faves Ahead of Regular-Season Home Stretch

World Series 2019 Odds

Can anyone catch the Houston Astros right now? Two and a half weeks remain in the 2019 MLB season and the Astros are the +250 favorites to win their second World Series in three years.

At Bovada, the Astros top the oddsboard, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers (+275), New York Yankees (+375), Atlanta Braves (+700), St. Louis Cardinals (+1100), Minnesota Twins (+1800), Washington Nationals (+1800), Oakland Athletics (+2200), Tampa Bay Rays (+2500) and Chicago Cubs (+2800) to round out the top 10.

Cubs, Brewers Get Hit With Injury Bug

With the postseason approaching, a rash of injuries have hit baseball at an extremely inopportune time. The Cubs lost MVP candidate Javy Baez for the rest of the regular season with a thumb fracture, while Brewers superstar Christian Yelich is done for the year due to a fractured kneecap.

As a result, the Brewers and Cubs – who are firmly in the wild-card race – will have to go forward without their key players. The Cubs were +1600 before the Baez injury, while the Brew Crew’s odds were sitting at +4000.

An interesting team to watch down the stretch is undoubtedly going to be the Indians. Cleveland, which opened the season as the heavy favorite to win the AL Central, was trailing the Twins by four games as of September 12 and is currently a half-game back of the Athletics for the final AL wild-card spot. The Tribe are +3300 to win the World Series.
