Straight out of the All-Star break, baseball fans in New York get a subway series between the Mets and Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The teams met in June at Citi Field where the Yankees took two of three and held the Mets to six runs through three games.
Noah Syndergaard takes the hill for the visiting Mets while Domingo German makes his 13th start of the season for the Bronx Bombers. Interestingly in this game, the Yankees are the moneyline favorite (-135) but the Mets are -190 to cover.

Syndergaard vs German
Noah Syndergaard (5-1, 2.97 ERA) missed six weeks with a strained ligament in his hand and returned just before the break to throw five innings against the Nationals on Friday the 13th. He picked up the win giving up seven hits, walking two and striking out three. The Mets are 8-4 SU in Thor’s 12 starts this year, but have looked really good for F5 bets when he gets the ball. This is just Syndergaard’s second career start vs the Yankees and his first at either version of Yankee Stadium.
Domingo German (2-5, 5.49 ERA) makes his second start of 2018 vs the crosstown Mets. On June 9th he tossed six innings while allowing five hits and two home runs. He struck out nine batters before eventually settling for a no-decision in a game the Yankees won 4-3. German took the loss and gave up six earned runs in four innings in his last start a week ago vs Cleveland. That ended his streak of seven starts without a loss.
The Yankees Have Dominated the Mets Lately
It’s been a one-sided relationship between these two clubs with the Mets only winning one game in the last seven matchups. Ironically, it was the final game of the series in June and it is one of Luis Severino’s two losses this year.
While the Yankees have been winning, the games have been close, as the Mets went 3-4 ATS and only lost by more than two runs in one of those games, a 4-1 loss earlier this year.
Overall, the Mets are 2-5 SU and ATS in their last seven road games.

The total is set at 8.5 with -115 odds for the series opener in the Bronx. The Mets offense has been futile in 2018 as they rank 28th in runs scored and 30th in hits. The UNDER has hit in nine of the Mets 14 games in July with an average combined score of 7.2 this month.
