To make matters worse for the Yankees, Aaron Judge was forced out of action on Sunday due to back spasms. Judge is questionable to return on Tuesday. The Yankees slugger is 4-for-14 over his last three games with four runs and a home run.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with a game-tying home run in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday before the Boston Red Sox went on to score a run in the bottom of the ninth to avoid a sweep with a 2-1 victory. Guerrero has hit a home run in four straight games and is batting .600 over that stretch with four home runs and eight RBIs. The 22-year-old is enjoying a breakout campaign, batting .346 with 22 home runs, 50 runs and 56 RBIs.
Toronto enters this series 8.5 games behind the American League East-leading Tampa Bay Rays and a half-game ahead of the Yankees in the standings. This is going to be a crowded fight for wild-card spots in the American League this season as nine teams are currently at or above .500.
