Can Pete Alonso hit his player prop. Mets vs Giants betting preview

NRFI Picks Today: No Offense, No Run

It’s April 17, and I’m back on the grind with two NRFI picks for today’s MLB slate. We're going with two NRFIs in pitching-heavy matchups, and counting on the Reds offense and Cardinals offense to fall short.

NRFI Pick Today: Mariners vs. Reds (-120 at Sportsbook)

Mariners vs Reds Odds – Game Time: 12:40 p.m. ET

I’m giving the Mariners and Reds another shot at a scoreless first inning after Tuesday’s YRFI burned us. Brady Singer (3-0 NRFI this season) takes the mound for Cincinnati, looking to continue his strong starts. Opposing him is Emerson Hancock, who’s been solid in his early outings.

The Reds are batting a mere .161 in the first inning, while the Mariners aren’t much better at .229. Given these numbers and the pitchers' performances, this matchup feels ripe for a NRFI.

NRFI Pick Today: Cardinals vs. Mets (-115 at Sportsbook)

Cardinals vs Mets Odds – Game Time: 7:10 p.m. ET

Griffin Canning has been a reliable arm for the Mets in this matchup, posting a 3-0 NRFI record to start the season. The Cardinals have struggled offensively in the first inning, batting just .203.

On the other side, Andre Pallante has held active Mets hitters to a .316 slugging percentage and a .694 OPS. With both pitchers showing early-inning prowess and the Cardinals' bats being cold to start games, this NRFI at -115 offers solid value.
