Phillies Walk Off In The 10th Inning Against Dodgers

The Phillies picked up a thrilling 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in their last outing on Sunday. Trailing 2-1 in the 9th, Jean Segura hit an RBI single to send the contest to extras, where Trea Turner put Los Angeles up again in the top of the 10th. Philadelphia got men on second and third in the bottom of the inning, and that’s when chaos ensued: Alex Bohm hit a grounder to Max Muncy, but the ball evaded the shortstop, allowing both the tying and winning runs to score as the Phillies walked off on an error.

Philadelphia owns a top-10 offense in the majors led by Bryce Harper, who’s boasting a .953 OPS alongside nine home runs and 27 RBI. Their pitching has been rocky, though, with Wheeler’s 3.49 ERA ranking first among all five starters.

Braves Nearly Mount Ninth-Inning Comeback Against Marlins

The Braves nearly mustered a ninth-inning comeback in their last outing on Sunday but ultimately fell 4-3 to the Miami Marlins. After falling behind 4-1, Ozzie Albies hit an RBI double in the ninth and later scored on a groundout from Dansby Swanson to bring the score to 4-3. Atlanta couldn’t manufacture the tying run, though, as they ended up taking two of three games from Miami. Starter Ian Anderson allowed seven hits and four earned runs over six innings in the loss.

Atlanta has struggled with its pitching and defense through the early part of the season as they rank 23rd in the majors with 4.35 runs against per game. On the flip side, the Braves boast plenty of offensive depth: Marcell Ozuna leads the club with 20 RBI while six others have at least 15 on the season.

Phillies vs Braves Pick & Insights

Phillies: Keys To Victory

Philadelphia will be relying on Wheeler to put up another solid start after he threw seven scoreless innings in his last outing. The Phillies will be also looking to get an offensive spark from Harper and the rest of their talented lineup after averaging just two runs per game over their last six contests.

Braves: Keys To Victory

The Braves will look to take advantage of a struggling Phillies offense, though they’ve got a bit of a question mark on the mound in Davidson, who’s made just six career MLB starts. If the 26-year-old is able to give Atlanta five or six quality innings, they’ll have a good chance at picking up the win.
