YRFI/NRFI Picks For Today: Zack Wheeler Day Means No Runs!

Y/NRFI picks are your new best friend if you want instant MLB action. Personally, I hate waiting for my bets to hit, so I'm all in on this popular betting format.

Here are my two Y/NRFI bets for Tuesday, June 11:

Pick 1: Phillies vs Red Sox: No run First inning (-115)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 7:10 pm ET

Ladies and gentlemen, Zack Wheeler is in the building. And when the big Phils right-hander takes the hill, we know what happens next: an automatic NRFI pick. Without hesitation, I'm laying a unit on a NRFI bet in this contest, solely off Wheeler's credentials.

Wheeler has now delivered 13 consecutive scoreless first innings this year, striking out 15 batters and holding opponents to just six hits (.321 OPS). Strangely enough, Philadelphia never scores when in the first when Wheeler pitches, lifting the NL Cy Young favorite to a 13-0 NRFI record.

That said, we can't make our NRFI picks without at least considering the other side. In this case, Sox starter Kutter Crawford is solid. He's 11-2 NRFI this season, including four straight games without a first-inning run.

Pick 2: Braves vs Orioles: Yes Run First Inning (-105)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:35 pm ET

The O's are on a sneaky little streak, scoring in two straight contests. Gunnar Henderson did the honors yesterday, smashing a first-inning homer to cash our YRFI bet at +120. Well, we're back at it again with a slightly less tasty -105 value. Still, I like this bet a lot.

Albert Suarez is money in the first inning, so I'm not expecting the Braves to break him (though he is a fraud, so it's possible). Meanwhile, Max Fried is no saint in the first inning. He's 5-8 YRFI and his putrid 9.26 ERA makes him a perfect fade against an Orioles lineup that has let it fly over its four-game win streak.
