Can Rodriguez keep the momentum going?

Joe Musgrove and Dereck Rodriguez are slated to get the start. Musgrove (4-6, 3.41 ERA) recorded his third straight quality start last Monday, allowing two runs over seven innings against Colorado. The 25-year-old is set to face San Fran for the first time in his career and has allowed a total of four runs over 21 frames in his last there outings.

Rodriguez (5-1, 2.34) has thrown his hat into the NL Rookie of the Year discussion after working six or more innings and surrendering less than three runs in seven consecutive games, posting a 1.36 ERA over that span. The son of Hall-of-Famer Ivan Rodriguez tossed another gem on Monday against Houston, striking out seven without issuing a walk in seven scoreless innings.

Pirates are dominating right-handed pitching

Pittsburgh has been straight-up smoking right-handed pitchers lately, evidenced by the Pirates going 11-1 SU in their last 12 vs righties. The Buccos are also 6-1 in their last seven road games against teams with losing records, meaning the Giants (58-60) could be in trouble today.
