Royals vs Guardians Notable Players To Watch
SP Brady Singer (KC): Singer is key to our matchup today. The right-hander owns a career-best 2.63 ERA in 11 starts this year, but the Guardians have given him trouble over the years. He's 2-2 against Cleveland with a 4.98 ERA.
Jose Ramirez (CLE): Ramirez has hit like Barry Bonds in his last 27 games, smacking 11 homers, driving in 33 runs, and slugging .728. He's never looked better in his whole career, and he boasts some good numbers vs KC, too. More on that later.
Royals vs Guardians Preview & Expert Pick — Guardians ML (-150)
I'll gleefully tail our MLB computer picks today and snag the Guardians at -150 odds. Let's not forget: Cleveland is the second-best squad in the AL at 40-20. Let's put some respect on the Guards' name.
Cleveland got off to a good start Wednesday, taking the first game of the series. The dominance goes back further, too, as Cleveland is 13-7 SU vs KC in its last 20 games. More than anything, though, this is an odds play. I think the Guardians deserve steeper odds, and this represents some solid value.
On top of that, Tanner Bibee is a win machine on the mound. He's just 4-1 this season, but the Guardians are 11-1 SU when he starts. 11-1! That's as surefire as it gets.
Royals vs Guardians Preview & Expert Pick No. 2 — OVER 7.5 runs (-120)
Finally, I can unleash my Brady Singer splits rant. So, yes, the righty is in the middle of a career year, but he's prone to hard contact, and the Guardians have quite the sample size to draw from.
Active Guardians hitters are batting .358 and slugging .520 in 123 at-bats vs Singer. Ramirez, who is a lovely prop bet at OVER 1.5 total bases (-115), owns a .435/.552/.783 slash line vs Singer. You can bet KC pitches Ramirez very carefully, though it may not make a difference.
The Royals don't have much of a track record against Bibee, but it's not like the Guardians starter has been untouchable. He owns a 4.01 ERA this month with opponents slugging .402 against him. This all helps us go OVER, OVER, OVER!
