I only have one matchup option for my MLB same-game parlay on March 18, but that doesn't mean I'll be short on picks or value.
The Cubs and Dodgers square off, starting Tuesday for a season-opening showdown at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. I'm going in on the underdog Cubs, coupled with some support from a homegrown star.

Dodgers vs Cubs Parlay Pick No. 1: Cubs +1.5
Variance is king for the underdog. I nearly took the Cubs ML (+135) in this parlay, but I've instead settled on Chicago +1.5. I expect a close, well-pitched game. Both Shoto Imanaga and Yoshinobu Yamamoto have strong success against their respective clubs, which should keep this contest close until they get the hook (presumably no later than the fifth inning).
Chicago still ranks as a middle-of-the-pack offense with Kyle Tucker, but Imanaga will keep the club close, and I'd rather take Chicago at home, technically.
Dodgers vs Cubs Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Edman OVER 0.5 Hits
They don't make 'em any more automatic than Tommy Edman. The Dodgers utility man became a hero in the postseason, winning NLCS MVP and also posting a .988 OPS in five World Series contests. Edman is still swinging a hot stick, with a .273/.333/.576 slash line this spring.
Edman excelled against left-handed pitching last season, posting a .412 batting average and a 38% hard-hit rate. He also had success against Imanaga, going 2-for-3 with two extra-base hits.
Dodgers vs Cubs Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Imanaga OVER 4.5 Strikeouts
Generally, Imanaga handled this prop well, cashing the OVER in 12 of 20 starts (63%) last season. He went 2-0 on the UNDER with this prop vs the Dodgers in 2024, but his spring stats suggest his strikeout stuff is sharp. While Imanaga has surrendered 2.5 HR/9 (not good) in three spring starts, he's also racked up a 10.6 K/9 against a small 2.0 BB/9.
Imanaga has his best stuff, even if it comes at the risk of hard contact. I like his chances for a big outing in his native Japan.
