MLB Same-Game Parlay Today: Pick Dodgers Over Cubs

It's time for another MLB same-game parlay involving the Dodgers and Cubs. These clubs will play a second game in Tokyo, Japan on March 19 after L.A. secured a sound 4-1 victory in Game 1.

I whiffed on my previous same-game parlay, as the Cubs weren't close to covering the runline. I'll be a little less ambitious this time around.

Dodgers vs Cubs Parlay Pick No. 1: Dodgers ML (-155)

I saw enough from the Dodgers offense to pick them in Game 2. Even without Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, L.A. shined 1-through-9, capitalizing on the Chicago bullpen to establish a lead its strong pitching staff did not relinquish.

There's some uncertainty with Roki Sasaki, but I have plenty of faith with him on a short leash and in front of his native Japanese crowd. The Cubs offense also didn't show much beyond a Miguel Amaya double in the second inning. This Chicago offense still rates far below Los Angeles' monster squad of hitters.

Dodgers vs Cubs Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: NRFI (-120)

Offense is often sluggish early in the MLB season, and after Tuesday morning’s game cruised to a NRFI, I am expecting the same for March 19. The Tokyo Dome's history as an UNDER-friendly park, supported by its below-average offensive Baseball Savant Park Factor scores, adds to the case. With Sasaki's dominant spring form and Justin Steele's strong first-inning stats from last season, another NRFI and possibly a second straight UNDER seem like solid bets.

Dodgers vs Cubs Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Hernandez OVER 0.5 Hits (-230)

Hernandez picked up a hit in Tuesday morning's game, cashing his similarly priced OVER 0.5 hits. I like him Wednesday against Steele because he always has good splits vs LHPs. 2024 was no different, with Hernandez slashing .290/.357/.574 vs lefties. Oddly, Hernandez and Steele have never faced each other, so that may leave a slight advantage in the Cubs starter's favor. Still, I expect Teo to deliver at least one knock Wednesday in Tokyo.
