Whether you asked for it or not, we're back with another MLB same-game parlay, this time for a Thursday, May 16 matchup between the Reds and Dodgers. First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET.
Here's my MLB same-game parlay for this late-night showdown, where I analyze three parlay legs:
Reds vs Dodgers Same-Game Parlay: May 16
The Game: Reds vs Dodgers - 10:10 p.m. ET
Bet | Odds |
---|---|
Tyler Glasnow OVER 17.5 total outs | -160 |
Freddie Freeman OVER 1.5 total bases | +125 |
Dodgers -1.5 runline | -140 |
Overall | +500 |
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Glasnow OVER 16.5 Total Outs
Six innings is light work for the 6-foot-8 monster they call Tyler Glasnow. The right-hander has been one of baseball's best, posting a 2.53 ERA while leading all major-league arms with 73 strikeouts. He's healthy and pitching better than he has all season. As such, his total outs prop has gone OVER in seven of nine starts this year.
The Reds' lousy offense is the second half of this bet. No club has been worse than Cincy (.616 OPS) over the last two weeks, setting us up for a crying baby (Reds) vs hydrogen bomb (Glasnow) scenario. Don't be surprised when Glasnow carves deep into the game.
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Freeman OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+125)
Freeman has been hot lately, posting an .879 OPS over his last 49 at-bats, which obviously helps his OVER chances. But I'm in on a more specific matchup to shape this gutsy bet.
Brent Suter. Who? Exactly. The left-handed reliever will open for the Reds Thursday, and Freeman will demolish him. The Dodgers first baseman is 2-for-4 lifetime vs Suter with one homer, five RBIs, and a 1.750 OPS. Even if Freeman doesn't crush Suter in the first inning, I'll take the chance he gets some solid contact off Cincy's bullpen.
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Dodgers runline (-140)
I'm counting on this game being a proper whupping. It's a bullpen day for the Reds, Glasnow is on the mound, and Shohei Ohtani (1.388 OPS), Freeman (.940), and Teoscar Hernandez (.841) are all demolishing baseballs over the last two weeks.
Los Angeles has covered the runline in 11 of its last 15 games. With such heavy advantages Thursday, I'll bet the Dodgers do it again.
