2025 Giants Season Preview & Odds: UNDER 80.5 Wins

The San Francisco Giants enter 2025 after a disappointing 78-84 finish in 2024. Despite falling short of playoff contention, they’ve made notable moves this offseason to stay competitive in the stacked NL West. While they’ve added experience, this roster feels a step behind the division leaders.

I'll look at all the odds and futures markets in this 2025 Giants season preview.

San Francisco made significant but short-term improvements. Willy Adames signed a seven-year deal to solidify the infield, Justin Verlander joined for one final run at age 42, and Matt Chapman’s defense and power add much-needed consistency. Jung Hoo Lee is also back from injury, offering upside in the outfield. These moves give the Giants competence but not dominance.

The Giants' best-case scenario is likely third place in the NL West. This isn’t their year, and the odds reflect that.

I lean toward UNDER 80.5 wins here. The rotation is aging, with Verlander and Alex Cobb leading a group that lacks depth. While Logan Webb remains a legitimate ace, he’ll need to shoulder a heavy load. The lineup, even with Adames and Chapman, doesn’t inspire confidence against the Dodgers and Padres in a long season.

2025 Giants Playoff Odds

The odds are stacked against them. The Giants’ path to October looks bleak in a division with the powerhouse Dodgers and Padres. They’ll likely hover in the middle of the pack but don’t expect a miracle run. This is an -270 bet on the G-Men to miss the playoffs.

Webb is the Giants’ best hope for award honors, with Cy Young value at +2500. His durability and command make him a dark horse if San Francisco overachieves. .
