Andrus, Beltre have been getting the better of Fiers

Bartolo Colon (7-10, 5.19 ERA) was scratched from Sunday’s start due to back stiffness but is expected to get the nod in this one. The 45-year-old will be vying for his third straight win, although he’s allowed seven runs over 12 innings in the back-to-back triumphs. Colon surrendered six runs over seven innings in a setback to the A’s at home last month and is 17-10 with a 2.93 ERA in his career at Oakland Coliseum.

Mike Fiers (8-6, 3.38) is 1-0 with a 2.38 ERA in two starts since being traded to Oakland from Detroit earlier this month. The hurler faced the Rangers twice while with the Tigers, going 2-0 while allowing three runs in 11.1 innings. Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre have excellent track records against Fiers, as the duo are a combined 14-for-39 with three home runs against the 33-year-old.

A’s going UNDER totals with ease at home

When the Athletics play in Oakland, low-scoring affairs tend to follow. The A’s have gone UNDER in eight of their last 11 home games heading into today’s contest. When you combine that trend with the fact that the Rangers have gone UNDER in 22 of their last 30 on the road against fellow AL West squads, the UNDER could be worth a look.
