Blue Jays vs. Orioles Odds & Analysis

Sportsbook Odds

Toronto is favored again tonight with Sportsbook odds set at -185, although that number has dropped significantly. Despite trailing in the season series, the Jays have won eight of the last 11 head-to-head meetings. The total opened at 8 with consensus now at 8.5. The OVER is 7-0 in the last seven games between these two teams.

Starting Pitchers

Alek Manoah gets the ball for Toronto. The Jays ace is in search of his 13th win of the season and brings a 2.45 E.R.A. into this contest, that’s tied for the sixth lowest in the majors. He spun a gem against the Orioles back in June going six scoreless innings, while giving up just a single hit and striking out seven. He has yet to lose to Baltimore in four career starts.

The Orioles will counter with right-hander Kyle Bradish, who is 1-4 on the season and boasts an E.R.A. of 6.55. His lone win came back in early May, although he did miss more than a month with a shoulder injury recently. He has pitched well in both starts since his return. Bradish did get rocked by the Jays earlier this season, giving up five runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings pitched.

Guerrero Jr. Streaking For Wild Card Leaders

After winning eight of 10 games following the All-Star break, the Jays have cooled off considerably, losing four of their last six, including a 7-4 loss to Baltimore last night. The Orioles went deep four times in that contest as they crept to within three games of Toronto, who own the top Wild Card spot.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. extended his hit streak to 19 games last night and is hitting just under .400 during that stretch. He has also been a thorn in the side of Baltimore pitching this season going 10-for-22 with a pair of home runs in their five meetings.

Orioles Exceeding Expectations During Youth Movement

Surprising. That’s how many baseball experts would describe the Orioles season so far. They have won six of their last seven contests and are now just a single game back of Seattle for a playoff spot. This is a team whose odds to win the World Series were tied for the worst in all of baseball at the start of the season. Their highest win total over the last three seasons was 38. This year, they have already won 57 times with more than 50 games remaining.

Different players seem to step up on any given night and the team is just finding ways to win. If you are looking for a good prop bet, here is an interesting stat. Rookie Adley Rutschman has scored 13 runs in his last 13 games.

Blue Jays vs. Orioles Picks & Insights

Blue Jays: Keys To Victory

Matt Chapman. The Blue Jays’ third baseman got off to a rough start offensively, but he has found his home run stroke recently. He has gone yard six times in his last 11 contests and has homered in all three games he played against Baltimore this season. If he can add to that total, then taking the road favorite should be a smart choice when making your Blue Jays vs. Orioles pick.

Orioles: Keys To Victory

Ryan Mountcastle. He has been a nemesis to the Blue Jays this season with a .476 batting average and four home runs in just five games. In fact, he has made a living beating up on Toronto pitching. He owns the highest OPS against the Jays all-time at 1.131. Manoah hasn’t even been able to slow him down as he has gone deep twice off the Jays starter in nine career at-bats.
