Twins vs Yankees Computer Pick: Yankees moneyline, Over 7.5 runs

The computer has its mind made up. Scroll down to see how I've handicapped this Twins vs Yankees matchup.

Twins vs Yankees Notable Players To Watch

SP Luis Gil (NYY): Suddenly a legitimate AL ROTY candidate, Gil owns a sparkling 0.70 ERA during his last six starts. The Yanks are 6-0 during that span, too.

Carlos Santana (MIN): The Twins offense is down, but Santana isn't. His veteran approach is playing well over the last two weeks, during which he has slashed .296/.446/.444 with five extra-base hits.

Twins vs Yankees Preview & Expert Pick — Yankees ML (-170)

I'm tailing the computer on this pick, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why. There are multiple directions I can go, too.

Let's start with Gil on the mound. The 26-year-old got off to a bumpy start, but has been flawless over his last six starts (0.70 ERA). During that stretch, the Yankees are 6-0 SU when he starts. On the season, Gil is the 13th-most profitable starter in baseball (+452). He's a win machine for the Yanks.

Beyond that, New York has Aaron Judge hitting as good as he ever has in his career. Judge has hit 15 homers along with 29 RBIs in his last 28 games, racking up a 1.510 OPS during that span. He's basically Barry Bonds right now, so you better also bet him to hit his OVER 1.5 total bases.

Twin vs Yankees Preview & Expert Pick No. 2 — OVER 7.5 runs (-120)

The Yankees offense will feast. Feast. Trust me.

In the last two weeks, Judge and Juan Soto both have an OPS over 1.200. Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Volpe, and Alex Verdugo are also red-hot during this span. Everything is going right for the Yanks. So now what?

The next step is beating up Twins starter Bailey Ober. The right-hander had a 3.77 ERA on May 12 after a clean start to the season. He's since allowed 21 hits and 14 runs over his last 14 innings (8.36 ERA), elevating his season ERA to 4.89. The wheels are coming off, and the Yankees are ready to pounce.

I don't think Gil will waver, but Ober will certainly take his licks, ultimately pushing this total OVER 7.5 runs.
