YRFI/NRFI Picks For Today: Mariners Batting .208 In 1st Inning

Y/NRFI picks are your new best friend if you want instant MLB action. Personally, I hate waiting for my bets to hit, so I'm all in on this popular betting format.

Here are my two Y/NRFI bets for Friday, June 7:

Pick 1: Red Sox vs White Sox: No run First inning (-130)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 8:10 pm ET

We've got some Sox on Sox crime here, and apparently that means no runs in the first inning. Who would've thought?

Let's start with Garrett Crochet. He's one of the best trade candidates on the market, as his transition from reliever to starter this year has made him one of the best lefties in baseball. He's remarkable in many facets, including his ability to limit first-inning offense. Crochet is 12-1 NRFI this season, riding a streak of eight straight NRFIs. The White Sox's lousy .238 BA in the first inning helps our chances tremendously.

While Boston starter Cooper Criswell couldn't secure a scoreless first inning last time around, the right-hander has allowed just three first-inning runs in nine starts. That's fine enough for me to place a bet.

Pick 2: Mariners vs Royals: No Run First Inning (-115)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 7:45 pm ET

Starting pitching is important to our bet here, but the two offenses are more important. Seattle is one of the most reliable NRFI squads in baseball (42-22), and Kansas City is good, too (38-25).

The Royals actually crack a bit in the first inning, batting .276, yet, as a team, they can't seem to plate runs. The Mariners are among the worst in baseball, batting .208 (with a .269 OBP) and delivering consistent silent performances. So with the M's in Gear 1 on offense, plus Bryce Miller (10-2 NRFI) and Daniel Lynch (2-0 NRFI) on the hill, we're sitting pretty at -115 odds.
