Who’s Hot, Who’s Not in April MLB Totals

Major League Baseball returns this weekend and while it is sometimes difficult to cap the opening weekend as well as those early games of the season, there are some trends that you can potentially latch on to.
If you’re a totals bettor, be sure to take a close look at the Oakland A’s. The A’s open the season with a visit from the Chicago White Sox and have been the best OVER wager in the opening month in recent campaigns. Over the past five seasons, Oakland has gone 75-51-1 OVER/UNDER, which is equal to a rate of 59.1 percent; easily the best mark in the league. Last season, Oakland was the top OVER wager in the opening month with a record of 17-6 O/U (73.9 percent) with 10 of those opening 23 games featuring scorelines that went into double digits.
On the flip side, over a five-year span, no team in the league has been a better UNDER wager than the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates have posted a 45-69-9 OVER/UNDER mark, hitting the UNDER at a rate of 63.4 percent. The best UNDER wager in April last season? The Cleveland Indians. The Tribe posted a record of 8-12-1 OVER/UNDER to cash at 61.9 percent.
