World Series odds: Hot A's make huge leap

Don’t look now but the Oakland A’s have emerged as contenders, and some oddsmakers have taken notice.

The A’s, who last week were listed at 100/1 to win the World Series at Bovada, are now all the way down to 40/1.
Not every sportsbook, though, has been as proactive. TopBet still has the A’s listed at 200/1 and Interops has them at 100/1 as of Wednesday morning, according to OddsShark.com’s live futures odds.
Heading into Wednesday’s game at Toronto, the A’s have won six straight and they are 10-1 since the All-Star Break. Oakland is only five games out in the AL West and tied with the Angels atop the Amerian League Wild Card standings.
The A’s are up $973 on the moneyline since the All-Star Break and up $1,793 on the season. Only the Pittsburgh Pirates have been a more profitable bet this season (+$1,929).
