Kevin Harvick is the favorite in the Sonoma Raceway odds

Kevin Harvick Tops The Oddsboard For The Toyota/Save Mart 350

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series returns to action following a week off for Father’s Day as the drivers look to navigate their way through the road course of Sonoma Raceway for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. Martin Truex Jr. won the last running at this track and he has +450 odds to repeat. However, oddsmakers have Kevin Harvick as the favorite at +350 to win his first race of the year.

Sportsbook has Kevin Harvick as the favorite at +350 followed by Martin Truex Jr. at +450, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott and Clint Bowyer at +600, Kurt Busch and Joey Logano at +1000, Denny Hamlin at +1400 and Brad Keselowski at +1800 to round out the top drivers on the oddsboard.

Standout Stats

  • Toyota has earned the checkered flag in four of the last seven runnings at Sonoma Raceway, while Ford picked up two wins and Chevrolet just one over that span.
  • The Sportsbook has qualified 10th or worse in eight of the last 13 races at this track. A driver hasn’t gone to victory lane from the pole since Jeff Gordon in 2004.
  • Martin Truex Jr. won last year’s race but there hasn’t been a back-to-back Sportsbook at Sonoma Raceway since Jeff Gordon won three in a row from 1998 to 2000.
  • Kevin Harvick has finished in the top 10 in six of the last nine races at Sonoma Raceway, including the last four in a row, and he won the 2017 running. However, he’s yet to earn a victory this year and has just five top-five finishes, so until he breaks through, I am going to continue to fade him.
  • Kyle Busch has finished in the top five in three of the last four races at this track, including driving to victory lane in 2015. However, he has led just five combined laps over the last three runnings there.
  • Martin Truex Jr. has been the definition of hit-or-miss at Sonoma Raceway. He has finished 15th or worse in four of the last seven races there, but the other three were top-five finishes, with two wins including last year’s race. He led 62 of the 110 laps in the 2018 running.
  • Clint Bowyer has been terrific at Sonoma throughout his 13 career starts. He has eight top-five finishes and one win and has finished on the podium in three of the last four races there. His lone victory at Sonoma Raceway came when he drove a Toyota; in his two races in a Ford, he finished second and third.
  • This is not the track you want to back Brad Keselowski at. He has finished 10th or worse in eight of his nine career starts at Sonoma, with the other start being a third-place finish in 2017.
  • Chase Elliott has improved with each start at Sonoma Raceway. He finished 21st in his first running, eighth in the second and fourth last year. But he has yet to lead a lap there.

My Best Bets for the Toyota/Save Mart 350

Clint Bowyer +600

Bowyer has been very consistent at Sonoma Raceway, with 62 percent of his starts ending with him finishing in the top five, and he also has one win at this track. He has found himself in the top five in two of the last four races this season and looks primed to win his first race of the year.

Chase Elliott +600

Elliott’s first win of his career came last year at Watkins Glen, which is another road course, and he has been getting better each start at Sonoma Raceway. Last year, he had his first top-five finish at this track, landing in fourth spot, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him take another leap forward and find himself in victory lane.
