NASCAR Betting: May Race Slate

The busy Sprint Cup Series schedule for the month of May includes four points races for bettors along with the annual All-Star festivities at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The month gets going on May 3 at Talladega Superspeedway with the GEICO 500, with the drivers then heading to Kansas Speedway for the SpongeBob SquarePants 400 on May 9.

After competing in the All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 16 the drivers will then race in the Coca-Cola 600 at the track on May 24. The month of May then ends with the FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway on May 31.

GEICO 500 (Talladega Superspeedway, May 3)

Brad Keselowski was the winner of the GEICO 500 last year, when it was raced in October, with Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, Landon Cassill, Ryan Newman, Travis Kvapil, Kurt Busch, Marcos Ambrose, Kevin Harvick, and Casey Mears following him across the finish line. Denny Hamlin was the winner of the Aaron's 499 at Talladega last May, with Greg Biffle and Bowyer finishing second and third that day.

SpongeBob SquarePants 400 (Kansas Speedway, May 9)

Jeff Gordon is the defending champion at the May race at Kansas Speedway, paying off on the NASCAR odds with a trip to Victory Lane in that race ahead of Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, Joey Logano, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Danica Patrick, Aric Almirola, Jimmie Johnson, and Matt Kenseth. Logano took the checkered flag ahead of Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch in the October race at Kansas last season.

Coca-Cola 600 (Charlotte Motor Speedway, May 24)

Jimmie Johnson raced to the victory in last year's Coca-Cola 600, paying out ahead of Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray, Brian Vickers, Jeff Gordon, Paul Menard, Kyle Busch, and Brad Keselowski. Harvick finished first ahead of Gordon and McMurray in last year's Bank of America 500 at Charlotte in October.

FedEx 400 (Dover International Speedway, May 31)

Jimmie Johnson is also the defending champion at the FedEx 400, with Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Tony Stewart, Joey Logano, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Paul Menard following him across the finish line in that race. Jeff Gordon took the checkered flag in last September's AAA 400 at Dover, ahead of Brad Keselowski and Johnson.
