Having moved into the lead in the Sprint Cup Series standings Jimmie Johnson is pegged as the favorite at the sportsbooks to pick up the checkered flag in the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Johnson is listed as the +600 favorite at Sportsbook to visit Victory Lane at Michigan on Sunday, something he's never done in his Cup career at that track. Johnson was fifth at the Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway earlier this season.
That June race at Michigan was won by Dale Earnhardt Jr., and he's tied with Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart at +700 to cross the finish line in first place on Sunday. Dale Jr. also won at Michigan back in the 2008 season, while Busch is the defending champion at this event. Stewart's only Cup win at Michigan came back in 2000.
Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, and Denny Hamlin are all then set at +1000 on the NASCAR odds at Sportsbook to win the Pure Michigan 400, with Hamlin scoring wins at the track both last season and in 2010. Edwards took the checkered flag in Michigan races in both 2008 and 2007, with Biffle winning there in 2005 and 2004, and Kenseth turning the trick in 2006 and 2002.
Brad Keselowski and Jeff Gordon are both listed at +1200 odds to get the win this weekend, with Gordon's career Michigan wins coming way back in 2001 and 1998. Keselowski finished back in 13th place at the Quicken Loans 400 back in June.
Kasey Kahne (+1500), Kevin Harvick (+2000), Mark Martin (+2500), and Martin Truex Jr. (+2500) round out the second tier of contenders on the odds to win the Pure Michigan 400 at Sportsbook, with Clint Bowyer back at +3000 odds. Bowyer raced to a seventh-place result at Michigan International Speedway back in June.
