Odds to win the Can-Am 500: Kevin Harvick is in pole position on the oddsboard

Odds to win the Can-Am 500

The final race in the Round of 8 and the penultimate race of the season has the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heading to ISM Raceway for the Can-Am 500. Kevin Harvick picked up the checkered flag in the spring race in Phoenix and has the best odds at +175 to repeat this weekend.

BetOnline has Harvick leading the pack at +175, followed by Kyle Busch at +400, Martin Truex Jr. at +700, Chase Elliott at +700, and Brad Keselowski and Kyle Larson at +1000 on the oddsboard.

Harvick is absolutely dominant in Phoenix

Harvick led 38 of the 312 laps en route to a win when the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series visited ISM Raceway in March, continuing his strong career history at this track. That victory was the California native’s ninth in Phoenix, six more than at any other location, and he has driven to victory lane there in seven of the last 12 runnings. Additionally, he has finished inside the top five in 15 of his 31 career races in the desert, having finished sixth or better in each of the last 10 races there.

The 42-year-old earned his first win since mid-August last week but was not awarded a berth into next week’s season finale, as he failed a post-race inspection and was docked 40 points, which drops him to just three points over the cut-off spot.

Can Busch knock off Harvick?

Although Harvick was the man carrying the checkered flag at the end of 312 laps at ISM Raceway in March, it was Kyle Busch who led the most laps at 128 and finished in second place. This has been a recurring theme for Busch as he has led the most laps at this track four times in his career but has driven to victory lane just once, in a 2005 race in which he didn’t even lead the most laps.

The Nevada native has finished in the top five in five of the last six races at ISM Raceway and in total has eight top-five finishes in his 26 career starts there, including three second-place finishes. Busch has more breathing room than Harvick for that bubble spot, holding a 28-point edge over his brother Kurt, and at +400 he is providing good value.
