Odds to win the First Data 500: Kyle Busch favored to grab Checkered Flag

Odds to win the First Data 500

The Round of 8 begins as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Martinsville Speedway this Sunday for the First Data 500. Clint Bowyer drove to victory lane at Martinsville earlier this year and has +500 odds to repeat, but it is current point leader Kyle Busch who has the top odds at +250 to win this weekend.

BetOnline has Busch atop the oddsboard at +250 followed by Clint Bowyer at +500, Brad Keselowski at +500, Martin Truex Jr. at +600 and Chase Elliott at +600 to round out the top five drivers for the First Data 500.

Can Bowyer Double Down at Martinsville?

When the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series visited Martinsville in March, it was Clint Bowyer who dominated the race en route to one of his two wins this season. The 39-year-old led 215 of the 500 laps and now looks to become the first driver to win back-to-back races at Martinsville since Jimmie Johnson did so in 2012 and 2013. The Kansas native has finished inside the top 10 at this track in nine of the last 13 runnings and since driving a Ford last season he has finished seventh, third and first in the last three races there. At +500 a wager on Bowyer to go back to victory lane isn’t a bad one.

Busch is the bet to make

Kyle Busch has been absolutely dominant at the paper clip, finishing in the top five in each of the last six races there, including four podium finishes and two victories. In his career at this track, he has 15 top-10s, including 14 top-five finishes and two wins. The Nevada native has led at least one lap in each of the last five runnings at Martinsville, including leading 100 or more laps in three of those races. With just four races remaining in the NASCAR schedule, Busch will surely be racing to the front in his aggressive style, looking to punch his ticket into the finale at Homestead-Miami, and I think he gets it done this Sunday in the First Data 500.
