Odds to win the GoBowling at The Glen: Kyle Busch Opens as the Favorite

With just five races remaining before the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, the drivers test their skills at Watkins Glen for the GoBowling at The Glen this weekend. Martin Truex Jr. won last year’s race at the road course, but it’s Kyle Busch Sportsbook as the +300 favorite.

Online sportsbook Sportsbook has Busch as the +300 favorite followed by Kevin Harvick at +400, Martin Truex Jr. at +400, Brad Keselowski at +800, Clint Bowyer at +800, Joey Logano at +800, Kurt Busch at +1000, Chase Elliott at +1500, Denny Hamlin at +1500 and A.J. Allmendinger at +2000 to round out the top 10.

Busch has been dominant at The Glen

When it comes to Watkins Glen over the last 10 years, Kyle Busch has been one of the most successful drivers in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The Nevada native has made 13 career starts at the road course and has picked up two wins and finished inside the top 10 on 11 occasions. Additionally, the 33-year-old has collected three poles during that span. However, Busch hasn’t found victory lane at Watkins Glen since 2013. The current points leader picked up his sixth win of the season last week, drawing him into a tie with Kevin Harvick for most wins on the year.

Can Martin Truex Jr. Repeat at Watkins Glen?

Last year’s running at Watkins Glen saw Martin Truex Jr. carry the checkered flag around the 2.45-mile road course after 90 laps. The reigning champion has qualified in the top 10 in five of the last seven races at The Glen and finished in the top five in four of those races. That means through his 12 career starts at this track, Truex has finished in the top five 33 percent of the time. The New Jersey native drove to victory lane in NASCAR’s first road race of the season at Sonoma Raceway on June 24.

Is Suarez poised to win his first Monster Energy Cup race?

At +4000 odds to win the GoBowling at The Glen, Daniel Suarez is a long shot to pick up the checkered flag, but could he be the man to wager on? The confidence is high for the Mexico native after he earned his first career Monster Energy Cup pole and best career finish of second place last week at Pocono. Last year as a rookie, the 26-year-old qualified in fifth place at Watkins Glen and hung on to a third-place finish, leading 14 laps along the way. That was the most laps led by Suarez until last week when he paced the field for 29 laps. Suarez will need a strong finish if he wants to make up ground on Alex Bowman, who holds the 16th and final playoff spot.
