Odds to win the Hollywood Casino 400: Kevin Harvick favored to grab Checkered Flag

Odds to win the Hollywood Casino 400

It’s the final race in the Round of 12 and with only two drivers clinched into the Round of 8, it should be an exciting race at Kansas Speedway in the Hollywood Casino 400. Kevin Harvick won the spring race at this track earlier this year and at +250 he is the favorite to return to victory lane this weekend.

BetOnline has Harvick atop the oddsboard at +250 followed by Kyle Larson at +350, Martin Truex Jr. at +450, Kyle Busch at +650 and Brad Keselowski at +700 to round out the top five.

Can Harvick complete the season sweep at Kansas?

Kevin Harvick (+250) led 79 of the 267 laps en route to a win at Kansas Speedway when the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series competed there in May. The California native has finished on the podium in seven of the last 10 races at Kansas, including four poles, two victories and three second-place finishes over that span. Additionally, Harvick has led double-digit laps in nine of the last 10 races at this track.

There have been three back-to-back winners at Kansas since the Cup series started racing there in 2001, most recently last year when Martin Truex Jr. won both the spring and fall races. Harvick hasn’t won a playoff race yet this year but Kansas may be the place for his first.

Martin Truex Jr. is on the bubble spot for the Round of 8

The 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup champion, Martin Truex Jr. (+450) had a terrific Round of 16 and looked like he was peaking in the playoffs much like he did last year. However, the New Jersey native has finished outside of the top 10 in each of the two races in the Round of 12 and now holds an 18-point edge over Brad Keselowski for the eighth and final spot before the Round of 8.

The 38-year-old swept the two races at Kansas last year, finished second in the May race this year and has led 90 or more laps in four of the last seven races at this track. With the cutoff spot right behind him, Truex Jr. will be up on the wheel looking to secure his spot in the Round of 8.

Boom or Bust for Logano at Kansas

Joey Logano (+1400) has had flashes of brilliance at Kansas and also has had appearances of mediocrity. The Connecticut native had five straight top-five finishes between 2013 and 2015. Since then, he has had three starts where he finished 21st or worse, but also two third-place finishes, including the spring race this year.

During Logano’s top-five streak, he drove to victory lane twice, with the most recent coming in the fall race in 2015. The 28-year-old has just one victory this season, at Talladega in April, and has a 39-point lead over ninth-place Brad Keselowski. Could this be a time that Logano puts it all together or is another rough performance in store for the No. 22 car?
