Once Again, Kyle Busch is Top of the Oddsboard for the Pocono 400

Odds to win the Pocono 400

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is coming off the longest race of the schedule with Martin Truex Jr. outlasting the rest of the field to grab his third checkered flag of the season at Charlotte Motor Speedway and he now looks for back-to-back wins this week at Pocono Raceway. Kyle Busch tamed the Tricky Triangle last July and he is a +300 favorite to repeat this weekend.

Intertops has Busch favored at +300 followed by Kevin Harvick at +450, Martin Truex Jr. at +500, Brad Keselowski at +650, Joey Logano at +900, Chase Elliott at +1000, Denny Hamlin at +1200, Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney at +2000, and Kyle Larson and Clint Bowyer at +2200 to round out the top drivers on the oddsboard.

Standout Stats

  • Toyota has won each of the last three races at Pocono Raceway, Ford won two in a row before that and Chevrolet won seven of eight prior to that.
  • The winner has qualified outside of the top five in seven of the last 11 runnings at the Tricky Triangle.
  • There hasn’t been a back-to-back winner at Pocono since Dale Earnhardt Jr. did so in 2014.
  • Kyle Busch has finished on the podium in each of the last three races at this track, including two victories. He has also led at least one lap in each of the last seven races there. Prior to the last three races, though, Busch finished outside of the top 10 in four of seven runnings.
  • Daniel Suarez finished outside of the top 15 in his two spring runnings at Pocono but finished seventh and second in the two summer races there. He finished one spot behind Busch in the last race at the Tricky Triangle.
  • Alex Bowman finished third in the last race at Pocono but finished 25th or worse in his other five starts at this track.
  • Martin Truex Jr. won the spring running at the Tricky Triangle last year and has led at least one lap in six of the last eight races there. He has also finished outside of the top five in five of the last seven races at Pocono.
  • Brad Keselowski has led at least one lap in 11 of the last 15 races at Pocono Raceway and has finished inside the top five in six of the last seven runnings at the Tricky Triangle.

My Best Bet for the Pocono 400:

Brad Keselowski +650

He has been absolutely consistent at Pocono Raceway, always finding himself at the front of the pack at some point in the race and usually in the hunt to win it outright. Keselowski has already secured three wins this season and five top-five finishes as well. Lastly, Ford has found a lot of speed at the 1.5-mile and two-mile tracks this season and I expect them to be competitive on Sunday.
