Samsung Mobile 500 Betting Preview

Denny Hamlin is the most consistent racer among active NASCAR drivers at the Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Hamlin’s season sweep there in 2010 could make him a solid wager for another victory Saturday night at +800 (8/1) odds at Sportsbook.ag.

Carl Edwards is considered the odds-on favorite to claim his second title of the short NASCAR season as a +450 favorite on the Samsung Mobile 500 lines. Edwards has had four Top-10 finishes to go along with his victory in Las Vegas.

Hamlin held off the defending Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson (+600) to win the first race at Texas Motor Speedway last year, while pulling ahead of Matt Kenseth (+2000) to take the fall event.

The Texas track is known for its high speeds and this is a race of avoiding crashes and using pit stops wisely. Kenseth has always felt comfortable in Texas, finishing 12th or better in his last 11 starts, and is a former winner. He could be a good middle-of-the-pack wager on the NASCAR betting lines for Texas.

Kevin Harvick has won the last two races (Fontana and Martinsville) and the NASCAR betting lines at Sportsbook.ag have him equal with Hamlin at +800 (8/1 odds) to take the Samsung Mobile 500. Harvick has also finished seventh or better in his last three starts there and will garner plenty of attention on the NASCAR betting lines on Saturday in the Lone Star State.

Current Sprint Cup Series standings leader Kyle Busch is +700 on the betting lines for a victory, and his four Top-5 finishes should be a sign of things to come. Kurt Busch comes in at +2000 despite sitting fourth overall in the driver standings with four Top-10 finishes.

Greg Biffle hasn’t exactly torn up any tracks this season, but there is something about Biffle and Texas. He won this race in 2005, and finished at least Top 10 in his last five starts there. Biffle could be a good longshot wager at +1500 (15/1 odds) on the Samsung Mobile 500 betting lines.

In Top 3 betting it is Carl Edwards who leads the pack at EVEN odds for the Samsung Mobile 500. Johnson sits third in the driver standings, and with three Top-5 finishes thus far it is hard to ignore his steadiness and oddsmakers haven’t, setting the line at +180 for a Top-3 finish from Johnson.

Rounding out some of the Top 3 betting favorites are Kyle Busch (+200), Harvick (+250), Hamlin (+250), and Jeff Gordon (+300) at Sportsbook.ag.
