Three Drivers Share Top Odds to Win Consumers Energy 400

Kyle Busch (bottom) is among the favorites in the Michigan International Speedway Odds.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to the fastest track of the circuit at Michigan International Speedway for the Consumers Energy 400. Chase Elliott put on a dominant performance last week, leading 80 of the 90 laps at Watkins Glen, and he is sixth on the oddsboard this week with odds of +1400. However, there is a three-way tie for the favorite at Michigan with Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. all at +500.

Online sportsbook BetOnline has Harvick, Busch and Truex as the favorites at +500, followed by Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano at +600, Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin at +1400, Clint Bowyer and Kyle Larson at +1600 and Erik Jones at +1800 to round out the top 10 drivers on the oddsboard.

Standout Stats
  • Ford has won seven of the last 14 races at Michigan International Speedway, including the last three runnings there, with Chevrolet grabbing six checkered flags over that span and Toyota just one.
  • The pole sitter has gone on to win six of the last 12 races at this track.
  • Kyle Larson was the last driver to win back-to-back races at Michigan International Speedway when he won three in a row – in 2016 and the two races in 2017.
  • Kyle Busch (+500) has one win over his 29 starts at Michigan and it came in 2011, and he has just one podium finish since then. Pair this with Toyota winning just one race over the last 14 runnings at this track and Busch seems like a good fade.
  • Martin Truex Jr. (+500) has yet to grab a checkered flag through 27 career starts at this track. He does have four podium finishes over the last nine races there, though, and has led multiple laps in five of the last seven. Typically, he’s in the hunt but can’t seem to finish it off.
  • Kevin Harvick (+500) won the fall race at Michigan last year, leading 108 of the 200 laps, and has finished on the podium in seven of the last 13 races there. Additionally, he has led at least 10 laps in seven of the last 11 runnings at this track. That being said, Harvick has just one podium finish this year, winning at Loudon three weeks ago.
  • Joey Logano (+600) dominated at Michigan in early June, leading 163 of the 203 laps, and was the pole sitter for his third win at this track. He also has five podium finishes over the last 12 races there, including two wins.
  • Brad Keselowski (+600) has been consistently strong at Michigan with nine top-10 finishes over the last 11 races there but hasn’t driven to victory lane.

My Best Bets for the Consumers Energy 400

Kevin Harvick (+500)

Joey Logano (+600)

Sleeper pick: Daniel Suarez (+4000)

You can’t go wrong wagering on a Ford this week – they have been very fast at these wide-open 1.5-2 mile tracks this season. At Michigan in early June, six Fords were found in the top nine, including Joey Logano putting on a dominant performance in the win. Harvick and Logano have both been good at Michigan and have been competitive at most tracks all season. Daniel Suarez doesn’t have a Cup series win yet in his career so I wouldn’t go all-in on him but he switched to Ford this season and had a fourth-place finish at Michigan in June, so a sprinkle is worth the risk.
