Despite closing out the NBA Finals on Tuesday night the Golden State Warriors have been opened by online sportsbook Sportsbook as just the second favorites on the odds to win the championship once again in the 2015/16 season.
The Warriors topped the Cleveland Cavaliers 105-97 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night to take that series 4-2, but that didn't impress the oddsmakers quite enough as they opened Stephen Curry and company as the 5/1 second favorites on the odds to win the 2016 NBA championship.
The Cavaliers, meanwhile, opened as the 3/1 favorites on the odds to win the 2016 NBA championship at Sportsbook, with LeBron James looking to finally bring a championship to the city of Cleveland after coming up just short this past spring.
From there it's the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7/1 on the 2016 NBA championship odds, with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, and San Antonio Spurs all at 10/1, and the Houston Rockets at 18/1. The Atlanta Hawks and the Memphis Grizzlies are both at 25/1 on those early NBA title odds for 2016.
The Boston Celtics have opened back at 50/1 on the 2016 NBA championship odds at the sportsbook, with the Los Angeles Lakers behind them at 66/1. The Charlotte Hornets, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia 76ers are the longshots on that futures list at 250/1 odds.
