Mavs Blow Out Suns To Force Game 7

After getting blown out in Game 5, the Mavericks responded with a statement game of their own on Thursday, winning 113-86 and tying to series to force a winner-take-all showdown.

Luka Doncic had a double-double with 33 points and 11 rebounds to lead Dallas while Reggie Bullock (19 points), Jalen Brunson (18 points) and Spencer Dinwiddie (15 points) also finished in double digits.

Doncic has continued his absolute tear throughout these playoffs, averaging 31.1 points per game to go along with 10.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists, with only Giannis Antetokounmpo (32.3 points per game) scoring at a higher clip than the Mavericks star.

Doncic has struggled from three-point range in the series, though, shooting just 7-for-33 over his last four outings.

Suns Score Season-Low 86 Points In Game 6 Loss

It looked like the Suns would march to a series victory after beating the Mavericks by 30 points in Game 5, but Dallas returned the favor in Game 6 and gave Phoenix some of its own medicine.

The Suns were held to their lowest scoring total of the season as Deandre Ayton led the team with just 21 points.

The story of the series has been the power of home-court advantage with each team winning all three games at home. What’s even more interesting is that the margin of victory has been at least seven points in each contest, with the average margin coming in at 17.2 points.

If you’re a believer in trends, Phoenix looks like the easy choice to cover the spread in your Mavericks vs Suns prediction.

Mavericks vs Suns Pick & Insights

Mavericks: Keys to Cover

Dallas had a few key things go well for them in Game 6: Doncic had a great game (as usual), the team was hot from long range and they forced Phoenix into 22 turnovers thanks to a superb defensive effort. If those things stay consistent in Game 7, the Mavs could upset the Suns.

Suns: Keys to Cover

The Suns will need to regroup and reset heading into Game 7 Both Devin Booker and Chris Paul had miserable nights in Game 6, scoring 19 and 13 points while shooting 6-for-17 and 4-for-7, respectively. Both will need to have big bounce-back games if the Suns are going to keep their postseason run going.
