Nuggets Blow Last-Minute Lead To Mavericks

The Nuggets dropped their third straight game on Tuesday as they were edged out by the Dallas Mavericks 116-115. Tim Hardaway Jr. (29 points) led the Mavericks in scoring and Aaron Gordon had 27 points to top Denver, with five other Nuggets finishing in double digits.

Denver has had a solid start to the season but hit its first roadblock to start the month of December, losing more than two consecutive games for the first time this year. The Nuggets actually had a four-point lead in the final minute of their last game but blew it – something we can chalk up as more of a fluke than a trend.

Nikola Jokic, the two-time reigning MVP, probably hasn’t had the best start to his season either, but the Nuggets still boast some impressive depth that should get them through this slide.

Lillard Returns To Help Blazers Top Pacers

The Trail Blazers picked up their second straight win on Sunday, beating the Indiana Pacers 116-100. Jerami Grant (28 points), Anfernee Simons (22 points) and Damian Lillard (21 points) each had 20-plus in the win, while Myles Turner (24 points) and Buddy Hield (22 points, 11 rebounds) led Indiana.

Lillard made his first appearance in over two weeks during Sunday’s win after missing seven games with a right calf strain. The point guard played 32 minutes and looked to be in great form so he should be good to go without any minute restrictions moving forward. Lillard has scored 20 or more in 10 of his 12 games this season.

Nuggets Player Prop: Jokic OVER 26 Points (+110)

Jokic hasn’t yet reached his MVP form this season but he’s still averaging 23 points per game – nothing to scoff at. The big man has scored 26-plus in six of his last 12 outings. If he can turn it up against Portland and hit the OVER, there’s a decent payout to be had.

Trail Blazers Player Prop: Lillard OVER 27 Points (+106)

Lillard just got back into the lineup this weekend but already looks to be in great shape, scoring 21 points in just 32 minutes on the floor. The point guard has hit 27 points or more just four times in 12 games this season, but if his minutes are up, he’ll definitely have a shot at hitting the OVER.

Nuggets: Keys To Win

While Jokic is still Denver’s top scorer, he hasn’t carried them to many wins on his own this season. Instead, the Nuggets have relied on their impressive depth, with seven players averaging 11-plus points per game. If everyone can pull their weight, the Nuggets may be able to snap their skid.

Trail Blazers: Keys To Win

With three players averaging 23-plus points per game, the Trail Blazers definitely have more high-end talent than the Nuggets. The trio of Lillard, Simons and Grant are combining for nearly 75 points per contest. If those three are on, Portland’s offense will be hard to contain.
