While the basketball world waits to see what the Minnesota Timberwolves do with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, oddsmakers have released a wealth of betting props for the draft on November 18.
The next generation of players could get you paid with the plethora of NBA draft betting props available at the best basketball betting sites. Some interesting angles to choose from are the prospective draft positions for expected top picks like LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman. Even props like “how many international players will be taken in the first round” or “how many freshmen will be drafted in the top 10” have value if you really dig into the numbers.

Below we have nearly every NBA draft betting prop listed that is available from Sportsbook and Sportsbook. I also highlight two props that I think will get you paid. Be sure to check back to this page from now until the draft to see what other props are added.
NBA Draft Props & Picks
While I’ve already highlighted in my NBA draft preview that I think LaMelo Ball will be taken first overall over Anthony Edwards, I still have two NBA draft props that I’m very confident in. One is how many freshmen get drafted in the top 10 selections and the other is the draft position O/U for North Carolina’s Cole Anthony.
OVER 4.5 Freshmen Drafted In Top 10 -145
Option | Odds |
---|---|
OVER 4.5 | -145 |
UNDER 4.5 | +105 |
Odds as of November 18 at Sportsbook
What a difference a week makes. When we initially posted these NBA draft props on November 10, the OVER 4.5 freshmen to be taken in the top 10 option was +185. Now, on draft night, it’s down to -145.
The reason for the flip is no secret. When NBA general managers turn in their draft selection, they have to consider age. GMs tend to try to take a player who’s on the younger side so they can maximize their long-term potential, keep the player with the franchise as long as possible and not have to correct too many bad habits from their time in college.
That’s why the prop for freshmen drafted in the top 10 immediately stood out to me and I immediately hammered the OVER 4.5. Here’s why: This isn’t a great draft and NBA teams are going to take flyers on young guns who may have been in the wrong situation or weren’t utilized well within their program.
We already know three freshmen – Georgia’s Anthony Edwards, Memphis’s James Wiseman and USC’s Onyeka Okongwu – are all but locks to be taken in the top 10. Another freshman just a tier below those three is Isaac Okoro of the Auburn Tigers, who will certainly get taken in the top 10 with his ability to play all frontcourt positions.
That leaves a range of players like Patrick Williams of Florida State, Tyrese Maxey of Kentucky, Tyrell Terry of Stanford or Precious Achiuwa of Memphis who could sneak into the top 10 and cash this prop. Maxey and Terry make the most sense to be picked high in the draft, considering a Kentucky freshman has been taken in the top 10 in every draft since John Calipari became the head coach in 2009 and Terry is surging up draft boards as he continues to showcase his shooting skills in team workouts.
Cole Anthony Draft Position – UNDER 20.5 EVEN
Option | Odds |
---|---|
OVER 20.5 | -120 |
UNDER 20.5 | -120 |
Odds as of November 18 at Sportsbook
Cole Anthony may not be as liked by a lot of talent evaluators because of how poorly North Carolina’s season went this past year but the O/U line of 20.5 seems like an insult. Anthony was the only reason UNC even won more than 10 games last season as it had a roster devoid of high-end talent in a tough ACC conference.
Nobody will be thinking of Cole Anthony when it comes to defensive potential but from an offensive standpoint, he’s a cut above the rest. He’s excellent in the pick-and-roll, has quality shooting from behind the arc and the athleticism to finish in traffic. There are plenty of teams picking in the top 20 who would love to have a point guard of the future or a microwave scorer off the bench.
Going into the 2019 NCAA season, Anthony was projected to be a top-three pick and should still be treated as such. Hammer the UNDER 20.5 all day long.
