Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant

The NBA has changed quite a bit over the course of the last two decades, but one thing has remained the same: Kobe Bryant has always held the crown as the league’s most polarizing player. Simply put, you either love Kobe or you hate him. There isn’t much of a gap in between.

In late November, the Los Angeles Lakers legend and future Hall of Famer announced he will retire from the game he loves at the end of the year. The news wasn’t particularly surprising; Kobe was posting the worst numbers of his career and had hinted if things didn’t improve, he would move on sooner rather than later.

The Lakers (8-28 as of Jan. 6) have been an absolute disaster this year and are dwelling in the cellar of the Western Conference in the early stages of 2016. With nothing to play for and the season already lost, the remaining four months of the campaign have essentially turned into a Kobe Bryant farewell tour for the downtrodden franchise (although Kobe has stated multiple times that he doesn't want a Derek Jeter-esque drawn out goodbye).

As our time with the Black Mamba draws to a close, online sportsbook BetOnline has opened some prop specials to celebrate the occasion (okay, maybe that’s the wrong word). My personal favorite prop is the “final field goal attempted” one, with the MAKE priced at +130 and the MISS listed at -160. That’s just cold.
