Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors celebrates after the Warriors scored against the Washington Wizards in the second half at Capital One Arena on January 24, 2019 in Washington, DC.

Red-Hot Warriors Seeking 10th Straight Win in Boston

The Golden State Warriors are once again the hottest team in the NBA right now and will look to pull off their 10th straight victory when they continue a five-game road trip at TD Garden against the Boston Celtics today. Sportsbooks opened the Warriors as 3-point road favorites with a total of 230.5.

SHARK BITES
  • The total has gone UNDER in the Warriors' last five games vs the Celtics. (Avg combined score: 197.2)
  • The Celtics are 10-0 SU and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games at home. (Avg winning margin: 14.8)
  • The Warriors are 4-0 ATS in their last four games on the road vs teams with winning records.

Warriors vs Celtics Game Center

Warriors are proving they don’t have to rely on the three-ball to win

The Warriors breezed past the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday thanks to a 10-of-11 performance from 3-point range via Klay Thompson. Thompson and fellow star Stephen Curry combined to go 3-of-12 from beyond the arc on Thursday against the Wizards but still managed to pull out a 126-118 triumph. Center DeMarcus Cousins is starting to get more comfortable in the offense, as the big man went 8-of-12 from the floor en route to a season-high 17 points vs the Wiz.

The Celtics are nearly as hot as the Warriors, as Boston has won five straight and pushed its home winning streak to 10 with a 123-103 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. Starting point guard Kyrie Irving sat out of that game but backup Terry Rozier responded by scoring 26 points in the spot start. The teams split the two-game series in each of the past two seasons, with Boston beating Golden State at TD Garden in the Warriors’ last visit.

Celtics have been cover machines at home

The Celtics have not only been winning at home but they’ve been covering the spread as well. In Boston’s past 10 home contests, it’s 8-2 ATS. The Celtics are 6-1 SU in their previous seven home games against West Coast clubs.

When it comes to the total, bettors may want to pay attention to the UNDER in this one. In the last five meetings between the Warriors and Celtics, the UNDER is 5-0 with an average combined score of 197 points.

My pick: take the UNDER

The Celtics and Warriors are known for the ability to light up scoreboards, and oddsmakers tend to tab the teams with high totals when they collide. But as history shows, the UNDER has been the hot bet in this series, and I’m banking on it continuing tonight in Massachusetts.
