Will History Repeat Itself in Game 6?

No team has ever come back from a 3-1 hole to win the NBA Finals, and only two of 32 teams in that position have managed to take the series to seven games. In fact, the last time that happened was in 1966. The Cleveland Cavaliers will attempt to defy history tonight when Game 6 gets underway in Ohio on Thursday.

Shark Bites
  • The total has gone UNDER in six of the Warriors' last seven games with a closing total of 207.5 or less.
  • The Cavaliers are 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four games with two days off between games.
  • The favored team is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games in this matchup.

Cleveland’s dynamic duo of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving combined for 82 points in the Cavs’ 112-97 victory in Game 5, denying the Golden State Warriors a chance to repeat on their home court. Kevin Love returned to the starting lineup in that contest but managed only two points and three rebounds.

The biggest difference for Golden State in that game was the absence of Draymond Green, as Green missed Game 5 due to a suspension for hitting James below-the-belt in Game 4. If the power forward receives another flagrant one, he’ll miss a potential Game 7.

If you’ll remember back to last year, the Warriors were in the exact same position. Up 3-2 in the series, they closed out the Finals in front of Cleveland’s home crowd. Earlier in the season, Curry stated he hoped the locker rooms “still smelled of champagne.”

The Cavs, who opened as 2-point favorites at most shops, have been producing as home faves as of late. In their last eight when tabbed as home chalk, the wine and gold are 7-1 ATS.
