LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers drives against Draymond Green #23 of the Golden State Warriors during Game Three of the 2018 NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena on June 6, 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio.

NBA Finals Game 4 Betting Preview: Warriors Aiming to Put Finishing Touches on Cavs

The Golden State Warriors have been the team to beat in the NBA all season, and three games into the 2018 NBA Finals, the Dubs are on the verge of winning their third championship in four years. No NBA team has swept the best-of-seven Finals since the San Antonio Spurs dispatched the Cavs in four games in 2007. Game 4 gets underway in Northeast Ohio on Friday.

Sportsbook opened the Warriors as 5-point road favorites with a total of 215.5.

SHARK BITES
  • The Cavaliers are 7-1 SU in their last eight games after consecutive losses.
  • The Warriors are 6-17 ATS in their last 23 games with one day off between games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in the Warriors’ last four games with one day off between games.

The Warriors, who closed as -3.5 chalk in Game 3, went on to cover the spread easily in a 110-102 effort. Cleveland’s eight-game unbeaten streak at Quicken Loans Arena was snapped as a result. Through three games, Golden State is 2-1 ATS, with the lone ATS loss coming in Game 1 when they failed to cover the -12.5 number in a 124-114 overtime triumph. The Dubs haven’t been stringing together covers on the road, however, as Stephen Curry and company are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 away from home after covering in their most recent home game.

The total has held steady since Sportsbook at 215.5. Two of the three Finals games have gone OVER so far, with the lone UNDER coming in Game 3, which went below the closing 215.5 total by 3.5 points. Kevin Durant carried the torch for the Warriors in a game-high 43-point performance, but Curry (11 points), Klay Thompson (10) and Draymond Green (10) all had off games. Safe to say, if the aforementioned trio can get back to looking like their usual selves, the OVER easily cashes in Game 4.

Cleveland is the 14th team to fall behind 3-0 in the Finals, with the other 13 going on to lose the series. In NBA history, no squad has come back from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series. Tonight’s game is especially noteworthy since LeBron James could be playing his final game for Cleveland before entering an uncertain free agency. You can read about which teams have the best chance to sign James in the summer here.

When the Cavs have found themselves as underdogs of 5 points or less, they’ve been a risky wager. Cleveland is 1-4 ATS in its past five games as a dog of 5 points or less.
