Heat host Cavs in NBA betting

The Cavaliers (7-17 SU, 9-14-1 ATS) head into Miami as a big 17.5-point underdog in NBA betting action on Wednesday night as they take on LeBron James and his Heat (18-8 SU, 12-13-1 ATS).

Since the Heat defeated the Cavaliers they have reeled off nine straight wins –defeating opponents by double-digits in each of those games. The large pointspread may not be of concern to bettors, as Miami trimmed Cleveland on the road by 20 points in their last encounter. The Heat have also gone 4-1 ATS over the past five games.

To add insult to injury, the Heat are also the toughest team to score against in the NBA, and it could provide UNDER bettors with a smart wager against the posted total of 194.5 set by Sportsbook.ag. The Heat have finally ignited since a sluggish start and betting against them might prove costly from this point forward.

In another interesting NBA betting line for Wednesday it is the league-leading San Antonio Spurs (20-3 SU, 15-7-1 ATS) who are 8.5-point favorites at Sportsbook.ag when they entertain an improving Milwaukee Bucks team.

The Bucks played giant-killers on Monday, ending Dallas’ 12-game winning streak. Brandon Jennings put up 23 points and dished out 10 assists, while Andrew Bogut had 21 points and 14 rebounds. Milwaukee (10-13 SU, 9-13-1 ATS) will need another performance like that from the duo if they expect to earn a second straight road win.

It will be a tough challenge for the Bucks, with the Spurs riding a five-game home winning streak. San Antonio has also won six of eight head-to-head at home, and they have been so good of late that star Tim Duncan has seen very limited time in the fourth quarter.

Milwaukee gives up fewer points per game than San Antonio, and a cover on the large pointspread for the Bucks with an UNDER play on the posted total of 190 could be viable wagers in this contest.

The betting lines will favour the Boston Celtics when they welcome the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday. Boston crushed Atlanta last time out, but has dropped four of five head-to-head.

Boston has lost just once at home, but Atlanta has a very good winning percentage on the road. Even if you think the Celtics are going to be certain victors on their home court, it can’t be ignored that the Hawks are 4-1 ATS against the Celtics. These teams aren’t going to stockpile points, and they sent UNDER bettors to the payout window earlier this season and in three of their previous five meetings.
