Blockbuster Trade Alert: Los Angeles Clippers Deal Blake Griffin to Detroit Pistons

In a blockbuster that will surely raise eyebrows around the league, the Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly traded star power forward Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Pistons are reportedly sending Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, a first-round and a second-round pick to L.A. Brice Johnson and Willie Reed are also heading to Detroit.

The Clips are clearly sellers despite owning a winning record at 25-24 SU, as DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams are also rumored to be on the trade block right now. The move is especially surprising considering Griffin signed a five-year, $171.2-million contract extension with the team in the offseason. The Oklahoma product is averaging 22.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 33 games this season.

Prior to the trade, Bovada was offering the Pistons at +6600 to win the Eastern Conference, with the Clippers having a +7000 shot to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals. As of this writing, the shop’s NBA futures odds were off the board.
