Bucks Still Favorites Monday Despite Recent Struggles

The Bucks dropped their last game to the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, falling 103-96 on their home court. Pascal Siakam had a triple-double with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for Toronto, while Giannis Antetokounmpo also netted 30 to lead Milwaukee in a losing effort.

Milwaukee has been without starting point guard Jrue Holiday since January 5, going 2-3 in his absence. Antetokounmpo is averaging 32 points per game over that span, but even that hasn’t been enough to carry the Bucks to victory most nights.

Holiday (ankle) is ruled out for Monday’s contest.

Hawks Come Into Monday’s Matchup On Five-Game Skid

The Hawks’ losing streak was extended to five games in their last outing on Saturday as they lost 117-108 to the New York Knicks. RJ Barrett (26 points) and Julius Randle (24 points) led the way for New York while Atlanta’s Trae Young posted a game-high 29 points in the loss.

Atlanta traded Cam Reddish to New York this past week, along with Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round pick (via Brooklyn). In return, the Hawks received Kevin Knox as well as a protected first-round pick (via Charlotte). Currently on a 2-9 run over their last 11 games and sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference, the Hawks may already be writing the year off and preparing for next season.

Clint Capela (ankle) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) are out Monday.

Bucks vs Hawks Pick & Insights

Bucks: Keys To Cover

The Bucks are coming up against a deflated Hawks squad that hasn’t been able to build any momentum of late. Though Milwaukee has struggled as well, this game will serve as a good opportunity for the Bucks to build some confidence. Antetokounmpo should be good for 30-plus points, but he’ll need some help from Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis, who haven’t been consistent enough over this rough patch.

Hawks: Keys To Cover

Atlanta can’t buy a win recently and that’s largely due to their 25th-ranked defense (112 points against per game). Young is having a stellar season, averaging 27.6 points per contest, but it’s unlikely the Hawks will be able to outscore the offensively gifted Bucks. They’ll have to find a way to tighten up if they’re going to get back into the win column.
