Milwaukee News & Notes

Khris Middleton had his best game of the series in Game 6 going 11-for-16 from the field and 5-for-8 from three-point range to finish as the game’s top scorer with 38 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in the 104-89 win. Milwaukee led 26-19 at the end of the first quarter and 59-48 at the half.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is still only 26-years-old and will have plenty of chances to win an NBA Championship ahead of him; but he may never get another chance like this. In a postseason where so many teams have been plagued by injuries, he and his Bucks have managed to stay healthy. This is a golden opportunity for Antetokounmpo to finally get over the hump in the playoffs against a battered up Brooklyn squad.

Brooklyn News & Notes

Kevin Durant did what he could in Thursday’s loss collecting 32 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough. James Harden continued to play through injury and was far more effective in Game 6 with 16 points and seven assists than he was in Game 5. Still, it’s clear that Harden is nowhere near 100 percent with his current hamstring injury.

Kyrie Irving has been ruled out of Game 7 with the same ankle injury that has kept him out of the the last two games. With Irving out and Harden hobbled, the fate of this game could come down to whether or not Kevin Durant has another historical performance in him. Durant willed the Nets to a win with a remarkable Game 5 effort in which he scored 49 points and had 17 rebounds and 10 assists. Can he do it again?

Betting Pick: Milwaukee +2

Brooklyn has clear paths to victory in Durant having another monster game or Harden getting hot from the floor despite his hamstring injury. Milwaukee’s paths are even clearer though as the Bucks won Game 6 convincingly and only narrowly lost Game 5 despite Durant’s incredible effort. The Bucks have the value in this spot.
