NBA Specials: Individual Awards Odds

Detroit Pistons Andre Drummond

As we approach the quarter mark of the 2015-16 NBA season, the landscape of the league is starting to reveal itself. The Association is undoubtedly the most individual-based league out of the four major pro sports, which means there’s never any shortage of options when it comes to wagering on player props at sportsbooks.

Online shop Bovada has released some NBA specials on which player will lead the league in points, assists and rebounds per game, and it’s no surprise to see who’s headlining each list.

After last year’s MVP campaign, it was hard to imagine how Stephen Curry could get any better but that’s exactly what the Golden State Warriors star point guard has done this year. Curry is putting up eye-popping stat lines on a daily basis, averaging 32.0 points per game while shooting a blistering .524 from the field and .459 from deep as of December 3rd. Curry is a -125 favorite to end the season as the NBA’s points per game leader, with James Harden (+200) and Kevin Durant (+400) on his heels.

The 2014 season was one to forget for enigmatic point guard Rajon Rondo, but the 29-year-old has found new life this year with the Sacramento Kings. Rondo, who was traded away from Boston midseason and flamed out in Dallas, is averaging 10.7 assists per game in Sactown – higher than his career average of 8.4. Rondo has the edge over Russell Westbrook and the rest of the field at Bovada to garner the highest number of assists per game at -140 odds.

Some hoops experts believe the big man is slowly being phased out of today’s game due to the recent small-ball obsession that has swept the league, but don’t tell that to Detroit Pistons centre Andre Drummond. The 2015-16 season has been a coming out party for Drummond, who’s pulling down a ridiculous 16.7 rebounds per game through early December. As a result, the sportsbook has made the Connecticut product a massive -1000 fave to finish the season as the rebounds per game leader.
