Joe Ingles of the Utah Jazz and Ricky Rubio react to Rubio's basket against the Oklahoma City Thunder

Jazz Look To Keep Home Cooking Alive Vs Thunder In Game 4

The Utah Jazz will aim to go up 3-1 in their first-round NBA playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday – and they will do so at Vivint Smart Home Arena. The Jazz have been red-hot in front of their home crowd, winning their last five games in Utah while averaging 115 points per game and shooting over 52 percent.

SHARK BITES
  • Donovan Mitchell is averaging 25.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists during the postseason.
  • The Jazz are 14-0 SU in their last 14 games with 1 day off between games.
  • The Thunder are 1-5 SU and ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog of 5.5 or less.

Of course, the Jazz won Game 3 in Utah on Saturday thanks to Ricky Rubio’s stellar performance. The often-maligned point guard notched a triple-double – the first for a Jazz player since Carlos Boozer in 2008. Rubio easily outperformed triple-double king Russell Westbrook, as the Thunder point guard had issues driving against Rubio and Rudy Gobert – resulting in Westbrook shooting 5-for-17 with eight turnovers and a -25 plus/minus.

That being said, the Thunder’s aggressive defense actually did quite a bit to suffocate the Jazz in Game 3 – recording 33 points off 17 turnovers. But ultimately, OKC needs to find its offense again after the team averaged 98.5 points over the last two games. The issue continues to be play in the paint with the defensive juggernaut of the Jazz stifling the hard-charging attack of the Thunder and Westbrook – Utah is outpacing OKC in points in the paint, offensive rebounds and second-chance points.
