Suns vs Grizzlies Odds & Analysis

Although the NBA-leading Suns opened as only 3.5-point favorites, that number had moved all the way to -7.5 with word Memphis would likely be without top scorers Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, which could make Phoenix an easy pick for your Suns vs Grizzlies prediction. The total was set at 227.5 points. The OVER is 7-3 in Phoenix’s last 10 games while the UNDER is 5-2 in Memphis’ last seven outings.

Suns Outlast Curry-Less Warriors

The Suns won their ninth straight game Wednesday as they took down the Golden State Warriors 107-103. Devin Booker and Mikal Bridges scored 22 points apiece to lead Phoenix while Deandre Ayton had a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Jordan Poole led all scorers with 38 points for the Warriors, who continue to play without the injured Steph Curry.

Phoenix matched a franchise record with its 62nd win of the season and with six games remaining on the schedule, the Suns should easily set a new club best. They are already locked into first place in the Western Conference (and the NBA), holding an 8.5-game cushion over the second-place Grizzlies.

JaVale McGee (illness) and Cameron Johnson (quad) are probable for Friday’s matchup.

Grizzlies Win Again Without Morant

The Grizzlies edged the San Antonio Spurs 112-111 on Wednesday to earn their sixth straight victory without Morant. Tyus Jones led the way with 25 points while Dillon Brooks scored 21. Dejounte Murray topped San Antonio with 33 points.

With the victory, Memphis sealed second place in the Western Conference as well as its first-ever Southwest Division title. The Grizzlies also improved to 19-2 this season without Morant in the lineup – a testament to the club’s depth and confidence.

Morant (knee) remains out alongside Killian Tillie (knee) while Bane (ankle), Jones (hand), Jaren Jackson Jr. (thigh) and Steven Adams (calf) are doubtful.

Suns vs Grizzlies Pick & Insights

Suns: Keys To Cover

We knew the Suns were elite offensively but they’ve turned it up yet another notch during their current win streak, averaging 126.9 points per game over their last nine contests. They’ll be coming up against the top-ranked offense in Memphis (115.4 points per game), though the Grizzlies will likely take a hit without their top two scorers. If the Suns keep spreading the scoring around, they should pick up the win.

Grizzlies: Keys To Cover

The Grizzlies have found a way to come together and arguably play even better without Morant, but the likely loss of Bane and others may just be too much for them to overcome in this matchup. If the hosts are going to find a way to keep this one close, they’ll likely need a monster performance from Brooks as well as one of their best defensive showings of the season.
