Most bet teams – Moneyline (tickets)
- Heat +100
- Mavericks +200
The public is betting big on the underdogs tonight. Miami has taken 74% of bets and 87% of the money for tonight's play-in matchup against Atlanta. Clearly, NBA fans have far more faith in Erik Spoelstra's Heat than they do in Quin Snyder's Hawks.
Most bet teams – Spread (tickets)
- Heat -1.5
- Mavericks +6.5
Similarly, 71% of spread bets are on the Heat to cover tonight. Miami dominates the betting handle with 86% of the money coming in on Tyler Herro and company.
Meanwhile, over in the Western Conference the Dallas Mavericks have taken 63% of bets and 72% of the handle as 6.5-point underdogs against Memphis.
Most bet props (tickets)
- Trae Young Under 26.5 Points -135
- Bam Adebayo Under 9.5 Rebounds +105
- Caris Levert Under 1.5 Three-pointers made -145
- Tyler Herro Over 2.5 Three-pointers made -135
- Ja Morant Under 4.5 Rebounds -175
On the surface, many of the most bet NBA play-in tournament props are square plays that I wouldn't touch. Trae Young could easily get hot, and likely will need to score to keep his team in the game. Young is not the type of character to go down with out a fight, and will keep jacking shots late into the fourth if necessary.
Similarly, Levert and Adebayo could easily surpass their player prop lines so I'm not buying these plays.
In essence, these all make sense as public plays. As such, duck and run for cover.
