The week of the NBA trade deadline can be a difficult one to traverse in the player props market, as teams may be more inclined to sit talent who could be on the move with deals happening at a moments notice. That's why the safe solution is to roll with names who are unlikely to be sent packing, and while there's a slew to choose from, as we just witnessed with Luka Doncic being dealt, no one can feel 100 percent safe anymore.
Here are three expert player prop bets for your consideration for Wednesday's slate, including one for Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey as he makes his debut at Scotiabank Arena in his home nation of Canada against the Toronto Raptors on February 5, 2025.
Zach Edey To Record A Double-Double vs. Raptors (+260)
Preview: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Toronto Raptors, 7:30 p.m. ET
Raptors center Jakob Poeltl exited Tuesday's loss to the New York Knicks with a right hip pointer, and he'll likely be unavailable to counteract the presence of a 7-foot-4 Edey who had arguably his strongest performance as a rookie earlier in the year against Toronto.
Edey finished with 21 points and a career-best 16 rebounds in 27 minutes of action while knocking down 9-of-15 from the field at the FedExForum, and conveniently enough, Poeltl was also absent that night like he may very well be on Wednesday. With backup big man Chris Boucher battling an illness and perhaps on his way out as a potential trade chip, the Raptors' frontcourt options are severely limited now playing on the second night of a back to back.
It also helps to know that Edey has registered a double-double in each of his last two outings, and while he only has seven in total, the upside at +260 is worth it in this particular matchup.
Trey Murphy III OVER 24.5 Points vs. Nuggets (+100)
Preview: New Orleans Pelicans vs. Denver Nuggets, 9 p.m. ET
Keep Trey Murphy III's production on the down low before oddsmakers catch on, because having his scoring prop at 24.5 at plus money for an OVER considering the tear he's been on as of late is tremendous value.
He's averaging 37.7 points on 70.7 percent shooting with seven makes from behind the arc per game over his last three outings, including more than 40 points in each of his last two. Murphy III just dropped 41 points in the Mile High City with eight made 3-pointers on Monday and gets another crack at the Denver Nuggets 48 hours later.
All he needs to do is score 25 points on Wednesday for an OVER, and you have to take that chance with this recent output.
Josh Green OVER 8.5 Points vs. Bucks (-104)
Preview: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Charlotte Hornets, 7 p.m. ET
Playing time has come in steady doses for Charlotte Hornets guard Josh Green, especially in a world where both Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball are sidelined. He's only attempting the eighth-most shots on the roster over the last seven games, but Green is still averaging 11.5 points during that stretch with six OVERs on 8.5 points.
He's played fewer than 30 minutes just once across his last six appearances, and Charlotte is in desperate need of anyone who can put the ball in the basket these days with the 26th-ranked defense over the aforementioned stretch. Green can provide that, even in a reserve role, so registering at least nine points against the Milwaukee Bucks at home should come naturally.
