We can all collectively take a deep breath after one of the most chaotic NBA trade deadlines in league history, returning our attention to the player props market with a slew of new faces in new places. It may take some time for some of those players who've been moved in the last 24 hours to acclimate to their new surroundings or even suit up altogether, so we'll be avoiding those names for the time being.
Here are three expert player props to consider for the schedule on Friday, February 7, including the return of Oklahoma City Thunder big man Chet Holmgren for his first taste of action since Nov. 10 against the Toronto Raptors at the Paycom Center.
Chet Holmgren OVER 11.5 Points vs. Raptors (-111)
Preview: Toronto Raptors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, 8 p.m. ET
Head coach Mark Daigneault hasn't come out and suggested that Holmgren may be on some sort of minutes restriction as of yet, but even if that's the case, oddsmakers are being rather conservative with his 11.5-point prop versus a Raptors team that's allowed 129.5 points over their last two defeats.
Prior to going down with a serious hip injury, Holmgren had reached an OVER on this number in seven of his nine appearances this season with Oklahoma City, and one of his UNDERs was merely a result of only playing 18 minutes in what ended up being a 23-point blowout victory.
Toronto will be without both Jakob Poeltl (hip) and RJ Barrett (concussion), so the worry here is that the Thunder may not need a ton from Holmgren and could sit him simply because they're up huge on the scoreboard. The 7-footer did average 20 points across two meetings in this particular matchup in his rookie year, so let's see if OKC will try and get him some easy looks early on to get him back in the swing of things and help bettors out here.
Bilal Coulibaly OVER 23.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists vs. Cavaliers (-106)
Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards, 7 p.m. ET
This season has long been a wash for the Washington Wizards, and despite bringing aboard veterans like Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart ahead of Thursday's 3 p.m. deadline, the goal for these final few months should be to invest more playing time and responsibility into the young core which undoubtedly includes 20-year-old wing Bilal Coulibaly.
Without Kyle Kuzma (who has since been moved) in what was a rare 17-point win against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, Coulibaly recorded the first triple-double of his young career with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists across 31 minutes.
It was Washington's third-straight victory, and Coulibaly has gone OVER a 23.5 PRA in the last two wins, with the one blemish still being close at 22 (14 points, four rebounds, and five assists).
Dyson Daniels OVER 16.5 Points vs. Bucks (+100)
Preview: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks, 7:30 p.m. ET
The best nickname in the sport in "The Great Barrier Thief" has dropped at least 19 points in each of his last three appearances for the Atlanta Hawks, who are without Jalen Johnson (shoulder) for the remainder of the season and just moved De'Andre Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Again, we don't know as of yet whether incoming parts like Terance Mann and Caris LeVert will be active on Friday and how much minutes they'd be receiving, so all we can work off of is Dyson Daniels' recent output and the assumption that his role will maintain a high usage. He only totalled 11 and nine points versus the Milwaukee Bucks in two games thus far, respectively, but the circumstances have since drastically changed for Atlanta. It's worth the gamble at plus money for an OVER in scoring.
